Who We Are
About GYDCA

GYDCA was created to turn a growing international call for youth engagement, cultural diversity and intercultural understanding into a permanent, youth-led platform for action.
A world united through youth dialogue
Sharing common values and working in cooperation with UNESCO, other networks and relevant partners, GYDCA seeks to foster intercultural dialogue, promote peace, and strengthen mutual understanding among the youth.
We believe that young people are powerful agents of change, capable of building bridges across cultures and contributing to a more inclusive and peaceful world.
Our vision is a global community where young people, regardless of their origins or background, engage in dialogue, mutual respect, and work together to shape a better future.

A broader international momentum
The Global Youth Dialogue Among Civilizations Alliance (GYDCA) emerged from a growing international recognition of two closely connected priorities: giving young people a meaningful role in addressing global challenges, and strengthening dialogue and mutual understanding across cultures and civilizations.
China played an important role in bringing these themes into international youth and multilateral discussions. GYDCA developed within this broader context as an independent, youth-led response: a platform designed not simply for young people to attend dialogue, but for them to shape it, build partnerships and translate ideas into impact.
Established at UNESCO Headquarters, Paris — GYDCA was founded as a lasting international platform, directly rooted in the momentum of UN General Assembly Resolution A/RES/78/286 co-sponsored by over 80 countries.
Moments that Sparked Our Foundation
At the High-level Dialogue on Global Development, China announced that it would host the World Youth Development Forum and work with partners on an Action Plan for Global Youth Development.
At the inaugural World Youth Development Forum, youth were presented as a driving force for development, with stronger international youth cooperation encouraged.
Youth forums and exchanges increasingly connected global development with dialogue, multiculturalism and mutual learning among civilizations.
The UN General Assembly adopted A/RES/78/286, proposed by China and co-sponsored by more than 80 countries, establishing 10 June as the International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations.
This momentum helped define the space GYDCA seeks to serve: youth voices + intercultural dialogue + concrete action, brought together in a lasting international alliance.
